An unbelievable amount (anywhere from 500 billion to 1 trillion) of disposable plastic bags is produced and accumulating in waste dumps worldwide each year. This negatively affects our fragile ecosystems of the planet. It takes more than 1000 years to degrade a classic-type plastic bag. Luckily, there are signals that plastic bags are on the verge of disappearing from everyday life.

An upcoming waste law may finally prevent vendors from uncontrolled distribution of plastic bags as it has happened in China, Spain, Ireland and Taiwan. The US city authorities in San Francisco and Oakland are heading in that same direction. The Australian environmental agencies are preparing a law prohibiting distribution of all types of plastic shopping bags. However, we cannot wait for the environmental legislation to be passed and sit passively; we must act NOW in order to ensure a definite slowdown in the pollution of our planet. For example, one netbag=spiderbag is equivalent of 200 disposable plastic bags.
